Agronomy Laborers are employed in the agricultural sector and are primarily responsible for growing, maintaining, and harvesting crops.

Agronomy Laborers often work under the guidance of farmers or agricultural managers and must follow instructions to ensure crop health and productivity.

Agronomy Laborers perform a wide range of tasks, including using machinery to assist with agronomy operations, move product, assist with tasks at the location and on site. Responsibilities may include:

• Transporting fertilizers and pesticides
• Operating and maintaining farm machinery
• Loading and unloading product
• Sorting and packing products
• Repairing and maintaining equipment
• Monitoring crop growth and reporting issues
• Cleaning and organizing tools and storage areas

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in agriculture or farming
• Prior experience with farming equipment, machinery, crop types, and planting techniques preferred

• Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance
• Basic mathematical skills
• Good physical fitness and stamina
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
• Basic understanding of agricultural practices
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues
• Time management to complete tasks efficiently and withing the farming season’s timeframe
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to tasks and projects

The Agronomy Laborer will uphold cooperative policies, perform other duties as assigned by management, and will enforce and uphold the cooperative’s credit policy.

• Uphold all cooperative policies

• Make credit terms known to all employees and customers
• Do not charge to customers on COD
• Do not extend credit to customers who have not been approved by the credit manager
• Keep all personal accounts current
