Dedham Public Schools is looking for Daily Substitute Teachers!

Dedham Public Schools relies on our substitutes to maintain classroom continuity and ensure that students continue to learn during their teacher's absence.

If you are interested in exploring a career in education, subbing is an excellent way to become familiar with schools, their routines and culture.

Subbing also gives you control over how often or frequently you work!

• Effective 3/2/23, our Daily Per Diem Substitute pay rate increased to $120/day*

• Must have attended at least two years of college
• MA DESE Licensure preferred
• Experience working with children and/or adolescents in active settings preferred

To be available to substitute teach on an "as-needed" basis.

• Follow instructional guide outlined in teachers' lesson plans
• Follow class expectations outlined in teachers' lesson plans
• Create and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom
• Maintain daily attendance and report paperwork to building secretary at the end of the day
• Keep a daily log about the progress of the day and leave it for the regular teacher
• Clean teaching area at the end of the day – put all equipment and materials away

Perform any other tasks that are assigned to the absent teacher on that day (bus duty, study hall, etc.).
