Vision Rehabilitation Specialist

Position: Vision Rehabilitation Specialist Needed
Make a significant difference in the lives of Canadians as a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist with Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada, located in Peterborough, ON. This full-time role focuses on enhancing clients' quality of life through low vision services.

In this permanent position, you will perform functional assessments, provide training for low vision devices, and educate clients about their vision health. Collaborating with a variety of healthcare professionals, you’ll help individuals develop confidence and independence despite their vision challenges. This role also requires community engagement and public education on vision issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform functional low vision assessments for clients.

• Instruct clients on maximizing their vision capabilities.

• Recommend and train individuals in optical aids.

• Attend and participate in community workshops.

• Maintain client documentation and data management.

Requirements:

• Graduate from a relevant healthcare program.

• High competency in computer applications.

• Knowledge of ocular anatomy and low vision rehabilitation.

• Professional judgment and decision-making skills.

• Flexibility to work and travel as needed.
