Make impact as a Youth Homelessness Prevention Worker with YES Shelter, based in Peterborough. This hands-on role focuses on supporting at-risk youth while enhancing community engagement in homelessness prevention initiatives.

The YES Shelter for Youth and Families seeks a dedicated Prevention and Diversion Worker to educate and support clients facing housing insecurity. You will help clients navigate available resources, develop housing strategies, and build essential community partnerships. The position integrates direct client support with valuable community development work aiming at effective homelessness prevention.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote youth homelessness prevention with community outreach initiatives

• Foster partnerships with KPRDSB to support local high schools

• Assess clients’ needs and provide tailored service connections

• Enter accurate service data to ensure quality reporting

• Identify gaps in services and propose actionable solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Social Work and 2 years experience working with youth

• Knowledge of youth resources and community building principles

• Experience in homelessness or prevention required

• Valid Driver’s License with reliable vehicle access

• Certification in First Aid/CPR, ASIST preferred
