Join Northern Chiefs in Deer Lake as a part time Nurse in Charge and create positive change in First Nations health care. Lead nursing efforts while prioritizing community wellness.
This part time opportunity at the Deer Lake Nursing Station involves overseeing a wide range of nursing services. You will implement and promote health programs focused on community health, preventive care, and urgent responses.
Your role is vital for building the capacity of communities to manage their health initiatives effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guide nursing functions within the Deer Lake community
• Implement health promotion and disease prevention programs
• Collaborate with health team members for patient care
• Ensure smooth functioning of primary and home care services
• Support community leaders in health program management
Requirements:
• RN certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 4+ years in clinical practice, especially in remote areas
• Management experience or training in community settings
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Knowledge of Cree, Oji-Cree, or Ojibway is an asset
