We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage all aspects of our business financials to join our team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling day to day bookkeeping and tax preparation for multiple entities. This role requires excellent analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines. In addition, there is mandatory overtime during tax season from February through April.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Processing and filing payroll and sales tax for federal and state
• Record and categorize transactions in Quick Books
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain accurate vendor classifications and chart of accounts
• Prepare and review financial documents such as P&L, balance sheets, and previous tax returns to ensure accuracy

Qualifications:

• Experience as a bookkeeper and tax preparer
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and sales tax
• Proficiency in using financial software like Quick Books and Drake Tax Software is preferred
• Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail
• Strong organization, communication and documentation skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently
• Ability to work under pressure during peak tax season while maintaining high accuracy standards
