Kitchen Leader

Overview

Kitchen Leader at Chipotle Mexican Grill. You will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables. You are responsible for making sure our food is delicious. You’ll order the food and train others to become future Kitchen Leaders. The Kitchen Leader helps ensure the quality and safety of Chipotle’s food daily. They ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, well stocked, and equipment is maintained.

They promote teamwork and create a great customer experience.

• In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to: cooking and prepping food to order, following kitchen procedures, ensuring food quality and safety.
• Monitor food waste and inventory levels, resolve food quality issues.
• Support a strong team dynamic between back of house and front of house Crew.
• Develop Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders.
• Communicate with Crew members and customers to ensure great customer service and throughput.
• Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized; monitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good repair; arrange for repairs as needed.
• Ensure the kitchen and Crew meet safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents.
• Fill out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and manage Inventory Rotation (FIFO).

• Understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy.
• Ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
• High school diploma.
• Restaurant experience.

Below is the base pay range for this position, which is also eligible for digital tips. Actual base pay may vary depending on skill level, experience and/or education. In addition to base pay, Chipotle offers a competitive benefits package. Visit  for more details.
