Job Summary

As a Production Engineer you will be at the forefront of our innovation supporting our unit’s technology, equipment and process control. You will collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understands the unit’s technology, equipment and process control, providing subject matter expertise to the unit.
  • Works with other technical roles and plant personnel to meet business and plant goals.
  • Supports and follows the work process and standard work practices required by the site and unit.
  • Ensures the required operating discipline, best practices and technology is implemented to optimize and improve unit performance and production.
  • Improves unit operating discipline and plant operating procedures.
  • Implements MOC’s as necessary.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and facilitates training of operating personnel in troubleshooting skills.
  • Networks with reliability, maintenance and improvement engineers to resolve issues, identify improvement opportunities, and leverage technology and best practices into the unit.
  • As requested, trains and communicates process technology and technical information to plant personnel.
  • Leads and contributes as required in root cause investigations for unplanned events per site and unit guidelines and requirements.
  • Leads and supports targeted process and productivity improvement teams.
  • Understands and applies Statistical Process Control (SPC) technology.
  • Understands and closes unit asset utilization operational performance gaps.
  • Maintains a personal development plan with guidance from leadership to continuously learn and develop.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering;
    Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • 4+ years operational experience within a chemical plant including co‑ops or internships.
Considered a Plus
  • Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Experience with FEED process.
  • Experience with troubleshooting systems in a chemical manufacturing environment.
