Primary FunctionThe Project Manager / Estimator works closely with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management teams to evaluate and determine project cost, including labor, equipment, and material requirements for high‑voltage EPC projects. This role also manages planning, execution, and monitoring for turnkey construction projects involving high‑voltage substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems.
Duties & Responsibilities- Attend project negotiation kick‑off meetings to define scope and strategy.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure optimal project value.
- Perform material take‑offs and develop cost estimates to meet proposal deadlines.
- Prepare scope clarifications and comments as needed.
- Attend project scope meetings and site visits to validate labor and material pricing.
- Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of all assigned work.
- Identify potential project risks or issues and propose practical solutions.
- Manage overall project cost, schedule, safety, quality, and completion.
- Oversee multiple project teams simultaneously.
- Prepare monthly billings and project change orders.
- Resolve project conflicts, delays, and coordination issues as needed.
- Travel periodically for short‑term project assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, with 3–5 years’ experience in medium to high‑voltage electrical substation and transmission construction; or any combination of education and relevant experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing deadlines.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Requires minimal physical exertion.
- Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for up to 8 hours per day.
- Work is primarily performed indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
- Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (approximately 10%).
- May occasionally be required to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
