Summary/ Objective
The Vapor Blast Technician performs a wide range of physical activities that require strength and flexibility of the whole body for handling, positioning, moving and manipulating equipment and materials, emergency response, vacuum truck operations, waste disposal, site remediation and high‑pressure water blasting.
Responsibilities- Operate and set up all necessary cleaning equipment such as high‑pressure pumps, in‑service line hydro‑blasting and vacuum, in accordance with operational and training guidelines and safety procedures.
- Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including personal protective gear.
- Work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and uneven industrial settings.
- Manually clean, install, fit, and repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets and all other external and internal equipment on tanks.
- Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps and general work area prior to starting any job.
- Inform supervisor of deficiencies that may cause accidents, injuries or lost productivity.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Hydro blasting or pressure cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
- Sand blasting experience preferred, but not required.
- Ice blasting experience preferred, but not required.
- General labor experience is a plus.
- TWIC card required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Pass a hair and urine drug screen.
- Pass a personal background check.
- Pass a MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) check.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic safety training skills.
- Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Capable of standing and/or walking continuously for long periods of time if necessary.
- Capable of climbing, balancing, bending/stooping, and kneeling continuously.
