ObjectiveThe Vapor Blast Technician will perform a wide range of physical activities that require strength and flexibility of whole body for handling, positioning, moving and manipulating equipment and materials, emergency response, vacuum truck operations, waste disposal, site remediation and high‑pressure water blasting.
Responsibilities- Operate and set‑up all necessary cleaning equipment such as high‑pressure pumps, in‑service line hydro‑blasting, and vacuum, in accordance with operational and training guidelines and safety procedures.
- Adhere to all safety policies and practices, including personal protective gear.
- Work safely in and around heavy machinery in loud, hazardous, and industrial settings.
- Manually clean, install, fit, repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets and all other external and internal equipment on tanks.
- Assist in the inspection of equipment, hoses, connections, pumps and general work area prior to starting any job.
- Inform supervisor of deficiencies, which may cause accidents, injuries or lost productivity.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Hydro blasting or pressure cleaning experience preferred.
- Sand blasting experience preferred.
- Ice blasting experience preferred.
- General labor experience is a plus.
- TWIC card required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a hair and urine drug screen.
- Must pass a personal background check.
- Must pass an MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) check.
- Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic safety training skills.
- Physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities assigned.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Able to stand and/or walk continuously for long periods of time if necessary.
- Able to climb, balance, bend/stoop, and kneel continuously.
