Petroleum Inspector II – Caleb Brett
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking a Petroleum Inspector with 5‑10 years of experience (Level III) to join our Caleb Brett team on site at our Deer Park, TX facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to launch a versatile career in the Inspection and Testing business.
Responsibilities- Perform volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
- Conduct visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
- Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships.
- Carry out routine equipment calibration, verification, and function checks.
- Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
- Adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures at all times.
- Perform all duties according to specified methodology and complete required paperwork.
Various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are possible.

Minimum Requirements- Valid driver’s license with a reliable driving record.
- Basic grasp of mathematics and ability to work in an automated environment.
- Availability to work on an on‑call basis.
- No fear of heights.

- Physical ability to lift 25‑35 pounds and perform walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting, and driving tasks.
- Must have or obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
- Skill to gauge, sample, and calculate shore tank and barge volumes, including interpolation on strapping tables.
- Capability to strap out vessels using vessel strappings and perform interpolation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Industry certifications are a plus.
- Willingness to travel on a volunteer basis.
