The Accountant is responsible for performing various functions, including but not limited to bank reconciling, general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

Essential Job Functions

• Posts and processes journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Assists in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
• Assists Accounting Manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals
• Oversees bank reconciliations
• Corrects accounting errors and posts journal entry adjustments
• Processes wire transfers
• Provides back-up to other accounting personnel as required
• Assist with other accounting projects
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

Experience

5+ years' experience in Accounting
