Utility Sales - Distributor Applications Engineer
Join Eaton’s North America Electrical Sales division as a Utility Sales - Distributor Applications Engineer. This remote opportunity is available across North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, or Alabama, covering the Southeast territory. Relocation assistance is available for candidates who reside outside these locations.
What You’ll DoThe primary function of the Application Engineer is to achieve acceptability of Eaton’s Electrical products in the marketplace, providing technical leadership for electrical utility distributors and their customers. The role involves training, application, and support of Eaton’s products, positioning them effectively against competitors, and delivering impactful training and support.
- Provide technical support for Eaton products and solutions, including submittals, drawings, and interfacing with distributors and customers.
- Conduct product seminars and training for electrical distributors, end users, consultants, and sales engineers.
- Assist customers with design-build opportunities.
- Provide sales support to Distributor Sales Representatives (DSR’s) and electrical distributors.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum five (5) years of electrical sales and/or electrical engineering experience
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license

- Electrical utility knowledge
- Skillful at leading teams, consensus building, and mentoring
- Initiative and self-management skills
- Value selling experience
- Electrical product knowledge
- Presentation and training skills
- Understanding of selling techniques and Eaton’s capabilities
- Technical knowledge regarding the application of Power Systems Products
- Possess knowledge of products, markets, channels, and associated applications
- Ability to travel up to 50%
The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and a target sales performance incentive. The target total compensation range is $ - $. Base salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
