OverviewInfection Preventionist directs interventions that protect patients from healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in clinical and other settings. Senior Nurse Infection Preventionist works with clinicians and administrators to improve patient and system-level outcomes and reduce HAIs and related adverse events. Supervises and coordinates the functions of staff within the department.

Responsibilities- Direct interventions to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) in clinical and other settings.
- Collaborate with clinicians and administrators to improve patient outcomes and reduce HAIs and related adverse events.
- Supervise and coordinate functions of staff within the Infection Prevention department.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in nursing obtained through a formal 4-year program
Experience
- Five years of related experience
Credentials
- Registered Nurse
- CIC certified preferred, or will obtain within 1 year of employment
