**** CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
*** Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
* Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
* Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
* Assists with compounding (didactic and/or basic hands-on).
* Participates in assigned training program and continuing education activities to attain competency in different technician duty areas.
* Volunteers for extra assignments and/or cross training in other department roles and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician.
* May volunteer to participate in a temporary taskforce/short-term committee.
* Acts as an informal resource for other technicians with less experience.
* Provides support in the training of students and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians.
* Serves as a mentor and role model.
* Stays abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice in pharmacy dispensing, medication dispensing systems, controlled substance distribution to floors, pre-packing and any other pharmacy technician duties.
* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
