The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Performs installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of various parts, equipment and machinery involved in the water distribution systems. Depending upon assignment, work performed may be related to water lines, hydrants, installation or disconnection of utility services, water meters, or related equipment.
- Works with contractors on rehabilitation projects.
- Inspects underground utilities including water mains, sewer mains, storm drainage, and lift stations.
- Inspects parts, equipment, and machinery and perform normal maintenance and servicing on equipment.
- Handles complaints and inquiries from the public regarding water distribution.
