Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a Pilates studio in Deerfield, Illinois through a Contract position that combines financial operations with front desk coordination. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a client-facing wellness environment and can balance accurate bookkeeping with excellent day-to-day service.

The right candidate will bring prior experience in a fitness or studio setting, strong organizational skills, and a genuine interest in health and wellness.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily front desk activities by welcoming clients, assisting with check-ins, and creating a positive studio experience.

- Coordinate class and appointment scheduling to help maintain an organized and efficient studio calendar.

- Process client payments, manage package sales, and keep customer account information current and accurate.

- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, including tracking incoming and outgoing payments.

- Prepare and process payroll with attention to accuracy, timing, and recordkeeping requirements.

- Complete bank reconciliations and review financial records to support consistent account accuracy.

- Maintain bookkeeping records in Quick Books Online and ensure transactions are entered and categorized properly.

- Support client account management by responding to routine inquiries and resolving basic billing issues. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably in a fitness studio, wellness business, or similar client-facing environment.

- Hands-on experience with Quick Books Online for day-to-day bookkeeping and financial record maintenance.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.

- Ability to manage both administrative front desk responsibilities and bookkeeping duties in a single role.

- Strong communication and customer service skills with a detail-oriented and welcoming approach.

- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when handling financial and client information.

- Interest in fitness, health, or wellness and comfort working in an active studio setting.
