The Financial Planner at Blue Trust focuses on creating customized financial plans that reflect clients' goals while integrating biblical principles. The role requires effective communication with clients and co-workers, handling confidential client information, and applying Blue Trust's financial planning philosophy.
Responsibilities- Prepare customized financial plans tailored to clients’ needs and aligned with the team leader’s goals and preferences.
- Incorporate client input to develop plans that reflect client goals and circumstances.
- Develop high quality, accurate, attractive, and professional reports and presentations that reflect Blue Trust’s financial planning philosophy.
- Provide cash flow analysis including bonus payments and stock option planning.
- Assess gifting opportunities of cash, securities, or other property.
- Assist with tax planning to estimate tax withholding settings or quarterly tax payments; plan for cash, securities, or other property gifting opportunities, and stock option planning.
- Prepare client recommendations using planning expertise and client goals, integrating Biblical principles in a manner consistent with Blue Trust’s philosophy.
- Exhibit technical knowledge in cash flow planning, tax and charitable gift planning, education funding, debt management, retirement, insurance, and estate planning.
- Utilize planning software deployed within the division.
- Initiate investment transactions in accordance with instructions from the Advisor and execute them using the company’s trading software.
- Perform other investment management tasks such as tax loss harvesting, account rebalancing, and account reviews.
- Support senior Financial Advisor or Managing Director with client meetings and related interactions (e.g., ensuring materials and financial plans are ready, recording meeting notes, preparing follow-up letters, and following up on action items).
- Respond effectively to client and vendor inquiries and manage multiple priorities to support client relationships and investment management activities.
- Demonstrate ongoing growth by pursuing CFP or other relevant professional designations and by deepening knowledge of the firm’s financial planning philosophy and biblical principles.
- Represent the company’s core values in work, interactions, and relationships.
- Maintain competence in general business skills and continue developing technical and leadership skills to support team and client needs and career growth.
- Demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency with company software such as eMoney, Salesforce (CRM), Orion, and other relevant tools.
- Maintain the highest compliance standards by adhering to HR guidelines, compliance policies, professional designation standards, and regulatory requirements to mitigate risk.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of biblical financial guidance (Old and New Testament) with scriptural references to money and finances, and ability to apply this knowledge in client counsel.
- Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong general knowledge of financial planning and investment management.
- Strong business mathematical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Personal integrity and ability to discreetly handle confidential data.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple time-sensitive tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to excel in a team environment.
- Aptitude and passion for learning.
- Desire to serve clients and co-workers with excellence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or financial planning required.
- Minimum of three years of prior financial planning and/or financial services experience preferred.
- Certified Financial Planner designation preferred.
- Additional credentials such as Master of Financial Planning, MBA, ChFC, or CPA are a plus.
- Travel demands depend on client base in the assigned territory and may include occasional travel by car or air to ensure clients are served according to the division’s client service model.
$65,000 to $90,000 per year plus benefits
