The Planning & Reporting FP&A group delivers critical business analysis and insight through partnerships with our business leaders. While reporting to the Director, Finance – Planning & Reporting, this role is responsible for delivering critical business analysis and insights, partnering with executive leaders and cross-functional teams, and driving financial performance across the segment. The Manager will oversee financial reporting and planning processes, provide strategic analysis, and identify opportunities for profit improvement and above-market growth.
This position will frequently serve as the financial representative on core business teams and lead a team of financial analysts.
- Lead and develop the Outdoors & Security FP&A team, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
- Oversee comprehensive reviews of the full P&L statement, ensuring accuracy and completeness for the segment.
- Review profitability metrics (Contribution Margin, Operating Margin, etc.) and collaborate with BU finance to understand drivers of variances, such as channel or product mix.
- Adjust financial forecasts and budgets to address contingencies and business challenges.
- Drive the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) build and create the consolidated financial story for Outdoors & Security.
- Develop and implement best global practices, consistent processes, and strategic analysis to support business objectives.
- Prepare and issue consolidated reporting (single source of truth for planning/forecasting).
- Prepare standardized financial summaries for internal reporting (M , Q , etc.).
- Perform ad hoc analysis and lead special projects to support business growth and transformation.
- Lead monthly forecast and annual plan activities for the segment.
- Prepare/consolidate global commentary for submissions to FBIN FP&A.
- Review forecast assumptions, drivers, and variances with Finance and leadership.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline (Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Science, etc.) is required
- 7+years of relevant financial analysis experience is required. 10+ years of experience is preferred.
- Proven analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong business acumen and thorough understanding of business fundamentals
- Engage in an enterprise-wide mindset, provide thought leadership, and demonstrate a bias towards action
- Proficiency with Excel modeling, data management, and translating information into meaningful insights and presentations
- Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams and business partners
- Ability to manage priorities and deadlines, handle pressure, and perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
- Highly motivated self-starter who has had experience working in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work well with others and as part of a team
- Proven analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills Previous FP&A experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of SAP, Oracle EPM / HFM (or equivalent experience in comparable ERP/EPM platforms)
