At Powers & Moon, LLC, we are dedicated to providing high-quality services to our health care provider clients to resolve workers compensation medical claims. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workers Compensation Administrative Asst
- Medical Claims to join our team.

The Workers Compensation Administrative Asst
- Medical Claims position plays a key role in all aspects of account management of denied and pended medical claims from our medical provider clients to make sure that our client’s accounts are billed to the correct carrier and paid correctly. This position requires accurate and timely documentation, excellent communication skills and seamless service delivery between the provider, patients, attorneys and all medical insurance carriers.

• Serve as a main point of contact for workers compensation accounts
• Develop knowledge of medical documentation and coding
• Learn Workers’ Compensation Laws and the impact on recovery.
• Prepare appeals , reconsiderations and submissions to insurance and attorneys for payment
• Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and attorneys
• Learn State and Federal fee schedule rules and regulations.
• Cultivate experience with Preferred Provider Organization contracts
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue recovery processes and proposing solutions .

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree and preferred
• 2+ years experience in a medical office or medical setting required
• Knowledge of workers compensation rules, terminology, and processes
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage numerous accounts simultaneously
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation and coding
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• ABA paralegal certification a plus
