Summary

Meets the Bank's business objectives by developing business opportunities to grow market share, meet sales quotas, cross‑sell to existing and new customers, and manage the branch staff. Builds customer relationships and identifies potential opportunities through quality referrals. This individual will oversee and manage operations of the Deerfield and Northbrook branches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service/Sales
  • Meets sales objectives by conducting monthly sales meetings, establishing sales quotas, and coaching staff on a consultative approach to selling, new business development and cross‑selling skills.
  • Uses a consultative referral approach to selling, collecting and analyzing information regarding customers' income, assets, investments or debts to identify referral opportunities. Tracks all branch referrals and sales and guides staff in achieving referral goals.
  • Assists in customer issue resolutions.
  • Identifies and coordinates appropriate outside sales activities and events to promote Bank products and services.
  • Mentors and coaches staff to ensure customer service is at optimal levels and branch goals are met.
Branch Operations
  • Maintains a solid understanding of all branch functions, including banking transactions, operations and sales objectives, to participate in duties of all branch positions when staff is inadequate.
  • Monitors compliance and operations of the branch.
  • Performs opening and/or closing procedures in accordance with security procedures.
  • Approves transactions within authorized limits while ensuring Bank policies and security procedures are followed.
  • Oversees completion of monthly audits and associates' work in accordance with policy.
  • Balances branch daily and reports out‑of‑balance conditions; resolves them accurately and promptly.
  • Adheres to alarm testing procedures and monitors automated cash equipment.
  • Completes monthly self‑assessments in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Protects customer data privacy and maintains confidentiality.
  • Complies with all Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • May perform duties of a licensed platform banker, requiring an insurance license to sell insurance products.
  • Completes all required training.
Staff Development & Leadership
  • Delegates assignments, follows up on results and completes operational requirements.
  • Exercises discretion and uses judgment to implement, distribute and monitor new procedures, policies and product information.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, business plans, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Recruits, hires, reviews and terminates branch associates. Provides training opportunities to enhance career development. Appraises employees for promotions or status changes.
  • Counsels and disciplines employees, monitors performance and prepares improvement plans when required.
  • Maintains a continuous improvement program through workshops and professional publications.
  • Establishes business and professional networks within the bank and community.
  • Fosters a teamwork environment within the branch.
  • Conducts monthly self‑managed branch sales meetings.
  • Ensures adequate staffing to meet business levels and that customers are serviced quickly, efficiently and within standards.

Required Experience
  • High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • At least two years of branch and people management experience with consistent, proven operations and sales results.
  • At least five years of previous banker and/or bank teller experience.
  • Strong understanding of bank products and services.
  • Commercial and residential lending experience preferred.
