Catering Captain

We are hiring immediately for a full‑time CATERING CAPTAIN position. The role is located at Walgreens HQ, Deerfield, IL. Applications are accepted via online portal only.

Full‑time schedule:
Monday through Thursday, hours may vary.

Pay range: $20.00 – $22.00 per hour.

Coordinates catering staff schedules to ensure all functions are delivered, served and cleared in a timely fashion. Prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Director. May drive a truck to deliver food and beverages to catered functions.

• Determine workload requirements from catering orders.
• Meet with function group leaders to discuss set‑up arrangements; address last‑minute changes and resolve problems.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a service‑oriented manner.
• Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items.
• Instruct staff on work expectations for catered functions.
• Help staff set up rooms to desired specifications.
• Assemble and deliver food and supplies to scheduled locations.
• Serve food and beverages to guests.
• Return food, beverages, serving equipment and utensils to the catering facility.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils.
• Ensure proper food preparation by following approved recipes and production standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• A valid driver’s license may be required.
  
  Must possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler’s permit and/or an alcohol server’s permit where required by state law.
