The Portfolio Manager (PM) leads all strategy across the chronic PD portfolio for Los Angeles, coordinating resource cohesion, collaboration, and implementation across the geography. The PM develops and maintains strategic physician and business‑led relationships, coordinates resources aligned to the geography with PD Clinical Specialists (PDCS), and serves as the point for all contractual communications. The role requires full understanding of all therapies, products, and the selling process, and involves negotiating local contracts.
What you’ll be doing- Expand and grow PD therapy utilization focusing on increased PD referrals (new patients on PD) through strategic physician and business‑led relationships.
- Lead all strategy across PD therapies, driving pre‑tax association margin and market share growth through direct provider engagement aligned with organizational strategic initiatives.
- Negotiate all local contracts aligned with strategic pricing initiatives.
- Utilize business tools to target and grow high opportunity providers, focused on patient growth and retention.
- Prioritize and implement market initiatives to meet territory forecasts and goals.
- Conduct scientific/technical sales presentations and discussions related to the portfolio.
- Continuously increase and sharpen knowledge, selling, negotiation, and presentation skills, and maintain educational level of relevant tools and resources.
- Create, manage, and grow territory sales opportunity funnel to close new business and expand market share.
- Maximize territory growth via strong collaboration with various strategic accounts initiatives.
- Capture and maintain all relevant customer interactions via pristine Salesforce entries.
- Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years of relevant medical device and/or clinical sales experience.
- Proven track record of closing new business.
- Physician engagement experience in a selling environment is required; preferred experience calling on nephrologists and having established networks of physicians.
- Proficiency at full sales cycle management (prospecting, lead qualification, solution selling, and closing).
- Minimum of 3 years sales experience in a medical field.
- Track record of managing multiple projects and/or businesses while consistently meeting or exceeding sales objectives.
- Advanced consultative sales skills with excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to relate to various levels of management and staff in the clinic environment.
- Demonstrated negotiating skills with ability to initiate, execute and close associated contractual processes.
- Demonstrated forecasting skills.
- Collaboration skills to ensure successful new business conversions and development at customer sites.
- Negotiation and management of pricing contracts and renewals.
- Ability to travel on average at least 50% of the time.
- Valid driver's license and compliance with customer access guidelines and vendor credentialing.
Estimated base salary: $104,000 – $125,000 annually. Commission and incentives may apply.
