Sales Development Manager
A leading architectural lighting manufacturer with a growing national presence is hiring a business development manager to support national growth through relationships with distributors, strategic accounts, architects, designers, and specifiers.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven sales professional ready to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate may come from inside sales, quotations, estimating, sales support, or a similar role and is motivated to move into a more proactive, relationship-driven business development position. This individual will receive hands‑on mentorship while working closely with senior sales, marketing, design, engineering, and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities- Build and strengthen relationships with distributors, strategic accounts, architects, designers, and specifiers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and support national sales initiatives.
- Help position architectural, concealed linear, tunable, and integrated lighting solutions early in the specification process.
- Understand project scope, budgets, customer priorities, and lighting requirements.
- Support strategic account development, go-to-market initiatives, client presentations, and sales activities.
- Stay current on architectural lighting, LED, tunable white, controls, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, design, engineering, and project management teams to advance opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–5 years of sales, inside sales, quotations, estimating, sales support, or related experience.
- Demonstrated drive and ambition to advance into a business development/sales role.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, competitive, confident, and comfortable pursuing new opportunities.
- Customer-focused, accountable, professional, and eager to learn.
- CRM and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
- Lighting, electrical, distributor, or architectural industry experience is a plus, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
