About the Role
Want variety in your day? CBRE is hiring a Mobile Technician with excellent care and quick problem‑solving skills to support multiple retail stores in the Northbrook, IL area. As a Mobile Maintenance Technician, you will perform reactive repairs and preventative maintenance to several buildings for one of CBRE's local retail clients.
Typical schedule:
Monday–Friday, ~7:00–3:30 or 8:00–4:30. No mandatory on‑call; all tools, company vehicle, and gas card provided.
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and light repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems, including HVAC preventive maintenance.
- Review assigned work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs.
- Support energy management by ensuring systems operate efficiently.
- Complete all work in alignment with building codes and safety laws.
- Use interpersonal skills to exchange clear information.
- Respond professionally to client, coworker, and supervisor inquiries or complaints.
- Apply existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while exercising discretion.
- Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks.
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1–2 years of job‑related experience (or a combination of education and experience).
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing.
- Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Follow basic work routines and standards.
- Clear communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and inquisitive mindset.
- Basic math skills (percentages, discounts, markups).
