Social Worker, Youth Development

Curt's Café is a welcoming space where food service meets community support. We specialize in freshly brewed coffee, homemade pastries, and inspired sandwiches and salads, using local products and creating dishes from scratch. Beyond serving great food, we are committed to training and empowering youth living in at-risk situations with life and food service skills. Our mission allows guests to "dine with purpose," making a meaningful impact in the community while enjoying our offerings.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Evanston and Highland Park, IL. As a Social Worker at Curt's Café, you will provide direct support and resources to young individuals in at-risk situations who are undergoing training at our café. You will help facilitate life skills workshops, connect participants with community resources, and offer mentorship tailored to their individual needs. You will also collaborate with staff to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all participants, fostering their personal growth and development.

• Strong counseling and mentorship skills to work directly with youth in court involved or at-risk situations
• Experience in case management and connecting individuals to community resources
• Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and build rapport with diverse groups
• Flexibility, problem-solving capabilities, and cultural sensitivity
• Relevant educational background such as a Bachelor's in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field or relevant work experience
• Experience in non-profit or community-focused environments is highly desirable
