Senior Software Engineer, Dev Ops

Capital One is seeking Dev Ops Engineers who are passionate about marrying data with emerging technologies to join our team. As a Dev Ops Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full‑stack development tools and technologies.
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with new technologies, participating in internal and external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.
• Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud‑based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment.
• Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, Go, container orchestration services (Docker, Kubernetes), configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform), and a variety of AWS tools and services.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in Dev Ops Engineering (internship experience does not apply).
• At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience.

• 2+ years of experience with Terraform or Ansible.
• 2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes.
• 2+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby).
• 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices.

• Riverwoods, IL – $144,200 to $164,600
• McLean, VA – $158,600 to $181,000
