About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced World Buyer to take ownership of a diverse and dynamic global food category. You’ll be responsible for developing a market‑leading range that excites customers, drives sales and delivers strong commercial results.

Working closely with trading, supply chain, technical and marketing teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping category strategy, identifying new opportunities and building strong supplier partnerships across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

* Own and manage the end‑to‑end buying process for the world foods category

* Develop and deliver a compelling, customer‑focused range strategy

* Source new products and suppliers globally, negotiating strong commercial terms

* Analyse market trends, customer insights and competitor activity

* Manage cost prices, margins, promotional plans and category performance

* Build strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality, availability and compliance

* Work cross‑functionally with trading, technical, supply chain and marketing teams

* Drive innovation and bring new ideas to market at pace

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience as a Buyer within food retail or FMCG

* Strong category knowledge in world foods, global sourcing or international ranges

* Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills

* Highly commercial mindset with strong numerical and analytical ability

* Confident decision‑maker who thrives in a fast‑moving environment

* Ability to build relationships at all levels, internally and externally

* Passion for product, innovation and understanding customer needs
