Job Description

This role is for a Geoenvironmental Technician looking to join a growing team supporting a range of construction and geotechnical project.

You’ll spend your time on active construction sites carrying out inspections, monitoring gas wells, taking soil samples and checking gas protection membrane installations. It’s a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to build practical experience within the geoenvironmental and construction industry.

Responsibilities

* Attend construction sites to carry out inspections and monitoring activities.

* Monitor and record readings from gas monitoring wells

* Take soil and water for validation and testing purposes.

* Ensure samples are correctly collected, labelled, documented, and handled.

* Carry out inspections and validation checks of gas protection membranes

* Check membrane installation against drawings, specifications, and relevant requirements.

* Identify and report defects, damage, installation issues, or areas requiring remedial work.

* Accurate site records.

* Complete relevant documentation.

* Liaise with construction personnel.

* Follow company procedures, site rules, and health and safety requirements at all times.

* Maintain accurate records.

* Travel between multiple construction sites as required.

Key skills required

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between construction sites.

* Comfortable working outdoors in a construction-site environment.

* Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.

* Basic computer skills.

* Ability to accurately complete paperwork, inspection records, and reports.

* Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

* Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work.

* Strong commitment to health and safety.

* Physically capable of working on active construction sites and carrying out site-based sampling and inspection activities.
