Role Title: Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing

Location: Northop

Contract Type: Permanent, Part time (O.4 FTE) 14.8 hours a week

Pro Rata Salary: M1 £ 13,438.40 - UP3 £ 20,772.80 (Upper pay range points UP2 and UP3 are subject to evidence of previous progression to Upper Pay Spine)

As a Veterinary Nurse Lecturer, you will have a range of responsibilities to ensure a comprehensive learning experience for students at Level 2 and 3. You will deliver captivating and informative teaching sessions, utilising your expertise to engage and inspire students.

Your role will involve the preparation of learning materials and the meticulous marking of students' work to provide valuable feedback and track their progress.

As a dedicated educator, you will adhere to quality systems to continuously improve student retention, recruitment, and achievement targets. Actively participating in the college's self-assessment procedures, external inspections, and verification activities, you will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the educational standards of the institution.

Monitoring and evaluation are essential aspects of your role. You will assess the effectiveness of learning sessions and engage in teaching observations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education that meets the diverse learning needs of students.

Any successful candidate without a teaching qualification must also be willing to complete a PGCE which would be funded by the college, this will be one day a week over 2 years, starting from September.

Essential Requirements
  • Registered veterinary nurse (RVN)
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in veterinary nursing
  • Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE, C&G 7407) or willing to work towards
  • Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
