Overview of Role

As a Lecturer you will teach and inspire learners across a range of built‑environment subjects. Your core responsibilities include:

  • Deliver scheduled teaching and prepare engaging learning materials
  • Mark student work and provide constructive feedback
  • Support students through educational guidance, support and counselling
  • Coordinate exam invigilation and liaise with awarding bodies
  • Collaborate with tutors in other business areas on resources, curriculum development and student reporting
  • Produce necessary documentation such as registers, schemes of work, course reviews, student reports and absence reports
  • Participate in marketing, planning, assessment and evaluation of course provision
  • Maintain high quality teaching standards and support the learning needs of all students
Requirements
  • Qualified to at least Level 3 in a relevant specialist area
  • Preferably a qualified teacher holding a PGCE, Cert Ed, C&G 7407 or willing to work towards one of these
  • Ability to develop and apply a range of teaching techniques and prepare effective written and visual materials
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a strong team spirit, with energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office and, ideally, Google applications and digital resources
  • Welsh skills are essential for this specific post
  • Willingness to support bilingual provision and service development
  • Potential to register with the Education Workforce Council if required
