Coleg Cambria is preparing for its busy JGW+ Summer Programme, supporting up to 60 learners—many of whom will have Additional Learning Needs (ALN). To ensure every learner receives the support they need to thrive, we are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Assistants to join the team at our Deeside campus.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact during an intensive, rewarding summer programme, working closely with learners who will benefit from structured guidance, encouragement, and personalised support.

About the Role
  • Provide day‑to‑day support to learners, including those with ALN
  • Assist with classroom activities, engagement, and behaviour support
  • Help learners access learning materials and stay on track with tasks
  • Work collaboratively with tutors and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning habits
  • Support the smooth running of sessions across the summer programme
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to learner progress updates

This role is full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday‑Friday.

What We’re Looking For
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business‑use insurance
  • Experience supporting young people or individuals with ALN (desirable but not essential)
  • Patience, empathy, and a learner‑centred approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced, varied support environment
  • A genuine passion for helping learners succeed
