Connah's Quay High School is seeking to appoint an exceptional and highly motivated Deputy Designated Safeguarding Person (DDSP) to join our dedicated safeguarding team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our existing Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP), providing operational leadership for safeguarding, child protection and early intervention across the school. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that safeguarding remains at the heart of everything we do.
Job Overview- Lead the day-to-day management of safeguarding concerns.
- Support vulnerable learners and families.
- Coordinate multi‑agency working.
- Ensure safeguarding systems and processes are robust, compliant and effective.
- Act as a key source of advice and support for staff, learners and families, helping to create a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.
- Relevant qualification in education, safeguarding, social care, youth work, family support or a related field.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Experience of working with children, young people and vulnerable families.
- Experience of implementing safeguarding procedures and responding to safeguarding concerns.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with external agencies and multi‑agency professionals.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and improving outcomes for young people.
