Tarvin Precision Ltd is a family-run precision engineering company specialising in low-volume, high-variety CNC machined components.
Based in Hawarden, we work with customers across sectors including aerospace, defence, marine, scientific, mining and niche automotive applications. Our focus is on producing high-quality precision components while maintaining the flexibility and attention to detail required for specialist engineering work.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join and expand our manufacturing team.
We welcome applications from people with experience working with CNC lathes, CNC mills, or both
.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating CNC machines
- Producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Working across low-volume, high-variety production
- Editing and setting CNC programs
- Selecting and setting appropriate tooling and offsets
- Inspecting components using standard inspection equipment
- Maintaining CNC machines
- Reading and working from engineering drawings
- Following company safety, quality and manufacturing procedures
The experience we are looking for will depend on whether your background is primarily in turning, milling, or both
.
For applicants specialising in turning:
- Previous experience working with CNC lathes is essential
- Good general CNC machining experience
- FANUC control experience is essential
For applicants specialising in milling:
- Previous experience working with CNC mills is essential
- Good general CNC machining experience
Heidenhain and/or Siemens control experience is desirable - Experience with HAAS controls
will also be considered - Please tell us about any other CNC control systems you have worked with
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- General workshop familiarity
- Experience of working safely in a manufacturing environment
- Good attention to detail
- Experience of producing components to tight tolerances
- A flexible approach to low-volume, high-variety engineering work
Experience of manufacturing procedures or quality systems such as Lean manufacturing or AS9100 would also be useful, so please include any relevant procedural experience in your application.
