Aboutthe Role
The Maintenance Technician position supports the plant by checking, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing- Perform periodic, scheduled inspections and checks of equipment to determine whether failures or issues are present and determine how soon the corrections/adjustments may need to be made.
- Assemble and disassemble machines to make repairs, perform inspections, and replace with new items while maintaining safety and production goals in mind.
- Troubleshoot equipment to identify root cause(s) and suggest appropriate follow‑up actions.
- Identify failed components and determine necessary replacement parts.
- Interact directly with production and other plant teammates in a professional manner.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive work instructions, identify parts that belong to machines, and fully document work performed.
- Comply with all safety and environmental protocols relating to operations.
- Locate spare parts in the storeroom and follow stock check‑out processes.
- Maintain a dedicated toolbox and shared maintenance tools and supplies in an organized manner so that materials can be accessed quickly and reliably.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Five or more years’ experience in an industrial environment as a maintenance employee performing Preventive (planned) and Corrective (unplanned) Maintenance.
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas:
- Mechanical
- Power Transmission – chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings, brakes, couplings, etc.
- Lubrication – oils, greases, storage and handling, application, etc.
- Hydraulics & Pneumatics – valves, actuators, compressors and pumps, piping and tubing, etc.
- Electrical
- DC Circuits – relays, contractors, power supplies, etc.
- AC Circuits (120V to 480V) – motors, drives, transformers, etc.
- Process Control
- Industrial Automation – robotics, PID, machine control, etc.
- PLCs & Networking – communication, signals, I/O, LANs, etc.
- Mechanical
- Associate’s degree or 2+ years of vocational training.
- Experience with maintenance technologies such as Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasound Inspection, Oil Analysis, and Precision Alignment.
- Certifications in mechanical/industrial fields (electrician, millwright, welding, etc.).
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT).
