Dispatcher, Customer Service​/HelpDesk

Dispatcher – Transdev North America, DeKalb, IL

We are looking for a customer service‑oriented professional dedicated to safety.

• Competitive compensation: minimum $15.00 / hour – maximum $18.00 / hour
• Vacation: minimum 2 weeks
• Sick days: 5 days
• Holidays: 12 days (8 standard, 4 floating)

• Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance, route timing, incidents, etc.
• Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips, including no‑shows, cancellations and missed trips.
• Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, acting as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
• Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
• Other duties as required.

• High School Diploma or GED;
  Technical Degree preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience dispatching.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug test and physical if applicable.

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather and humidity; 100% of the job is performed outside, alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances on possible sloped, slippery and uneven surfaces.
• Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes and noise.

• Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
