We are hiring Licensed Guards for weekend shifts and on‑call duties during the week. Weekend shifts are 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am on Saturday and Sunday.
Job SummaryProvide security details as outlined in post‑orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments. Security personnel will perform duties with constant awareness of surroundings, noting all activity that occurs in the assigned area. Officers must maintain a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service.
Basic Functions- Control of entrances and movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
- Patrol of buildings and perimeters.
- Escort material and personnel.
- Inspect security and fire exposures.
- Special assignments.
Duties may vary depending on department size, organizational structure, geographic location and post assignments. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow for certain ADA requirements. Overall core functions of officers include:
- Arrive on time and report to post in full uniform.
- Maintain a professional image by greeting customers, visitors and employees politely and friendly.
- Be proactive in knowing all revisions to post orders and any general information distributed by the customer and AFS.
- Patrol physical property or maintain a fixed post position, diligently reporting any suspicious activity and investigating accidents and criminal acts.
- Monitor cameras or equipment continuously as outlined in the post orders.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all emergency policies, procedures and regulations to respond to alarms, incidents and emergency situations.
- Complete daily activity reports, log‑book entries, incident reports and all relevant reports related to the job assignment.
- Make recommendations to management on improved safety and loss‑prevention processes identified during daily routine.
- Know life‑safety systems, fire panels, CCTV/ computer and other equipment to complete job assignments. Ensure continuous safe operation of all elevators and access doors. Know authorized contractor personnel responsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
- Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by AFS and other agencies regulating the customer/market.
- Communicate daily with the Security Supervisor any new security issues or changes that need to be considered or implemented.

- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED).
- Willing to submit to a background and drug screen; offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion.
- Minimum 3–6 months of prior experience in loss prevention, life safety, CCTV systems or access computer systems.
- Valid IL State PERC Card.
