Utility Worker/Service Employee

Transdev in DeKalb, IL is hiring a Utility Worker/Service Employee. This role focuses on basic vehicle servicing duties and requires a customer‑service oriented professional dedicated to safety.

• Maintain the cleanliness of fleet vehicles – interior and exterior
• Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles safely
• Fuel buses, replenish fluids, and log all fluid usage
• Download drive camera footage and probe fare box data
• Perform light maintenance at shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor
• Other duties as required

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions — 100% of the job is performed outdoors, alone, and in remote locations
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and on possible sloped, slippery, and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 25 lbs; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to pick up files or equipment at ground level
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise

• Competitive compensation package: minimum $15.00 to $18.75 per hour
• Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
• Sick days: 5 days
• Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating)
