Team Leader, Management

Team Leader role at H&R Block. You’ll provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office. You’ll serve as the front-line manager, developing tax office staff, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives.

• Lead a customer-focused team of associates and manage day-to-day operations of a single tax office.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development for tax office associates.
• Deliver an outstanding client experience and help achieve growth objectives.
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates.
• Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information.
• Create associate work schedules, manage timekeeping and overtime, and ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Recruit and select office staff in collaboration with the District General Manager as needed.
• Prepare tax returns, as required.
• Address client concerns and escalate issues to appropriate channels as needed.

• Prior experience in customer service, supervisory, or similar roles.
• Experience supervising or managing people.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if you prepare tax returns).
• Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
• Proficiency with MS Office and general computer literacy.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Customer-centric mindset, resilience, and strong communication skills.
• Flexible schedule and ability to adjust assignments based on business needs.
• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
• Nice to have: multi-unit people management experience in retail, restaurant, banking, or related industries; 2+ years as a Tax Professional.
