• Administer medications:
  Dispense prescribed PO, topical (unbroken skin), and rectal medications per physician’s orders and company policy.
• Monitor and report:
  Observe for adverse medication reactions or changes in resident status and communicate findings.
• Document accurately:
  Record all medication administration in compliance with policies.
• Ensure safety:
  Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment.
• Protect privacy:
  Safeguard the confidentiality of resident information.
• Adhere to infection control:
  Follow all infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Report errors:
  Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
• Clear communication, patience, discipline, and professionalism.
• Attention to detail and accurate documentation.

• Current Texas Medication Aide certification (or equivalent as applicable).
