Job OverviewPerform various functions and incidental services associated with repairs on array of heavy and light vehicles to support the operational mission.
Work Model:
Onsite
- Diagnoses malfunctions; repairs, rebuilds, and maintains refueling truck and related equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctions; repair, rebuild and maintain various types of motor vehicles and related equipment, including but not limited to engines, drive lines, brake, and hydraulic systems.
- Requires strict adherence to OSHA and AFOSH safety standards.
- Required to perform on-call duty.
- Accountable for hand tools and shop equipment.
- Performs normal maintenance on shop equipment and maintains cleanliness of shop area.
- May be assigned additional duties involving accountability for Government Furnished items.
- Respond to a wide array of operational situations as they arise and as instructed by supervisory personnel.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Able to perform the duties of this position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Perform all other work-related duties assigned.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in vehicle mechanic services in either gasoline or diesel engines and related vehicle systems such as electrical, air conditioning, and braking.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current Texas CDL Driver's License.
- Flight line driving permit.
- TODO Course.
- ASE Refrigerant Recovery& Recycling Review Certification Program or EPA section 609 certified equivalent Program.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in automotive repair.
- Working knowledge of all types of motor vehicles.
- Obtain and maintain a flight line driving permit.
- ASE Certification as an Automobile Technician or equivalent military automotive experience.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complete operational checks.
- Experience in the troubleshooting and repair of engine assemblies, clutch assemblies, brakes, hydraulic systems, drive trains, transmissions, and electrical system.
- Ability to work a nontraditional workweek and perform additional duties as directed by management.
- Outstanding technical knowledge, excellent people skills, and the ability to provide superior customer service.
- Additional training for hazardous waste accumulation, pollution prevention and other training related to the position may be required.
- Team player: ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to provide own tools.
- Obtain and maintain National Agency Check (NAC).
- Obtain and maintain refueling certification.
- Working knowledge of motor vehicles.
- ASE as Medium/Heavy Truck Technician.
- Possession of a current Texas Class A CDL Driver's.
- Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to extreme temperatures, noise, inclement weather conditions, and other conditions determined by the nature of the job. Tasks may be performed on uneven, and or inclined surfaces.
