We are looking for a Standby Generator Sales Representative who is passionate about sustainability, driven by results, and experienced in sales. This is an exciting opportunity to represent industry-leading products and be part of a team that’s helping shape the future of backup power solutions.
Position OverviewAs a Standby Generator Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating new business, conducting on-site assessments, delivering customized proposals, and guiding clients through the backup generator purchasing process. You will play a key role in expanding our residential and small commercial backup generator solutions across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Prospect, qualify, and close new residential and small commercial backup generator sales from incoming leads
- Educate homeowners on the benefits of backup generator systems
- Visit customer locations, analyze needs, and build detailed proposals
- Negotiate and close sales
- Process orders and turn in complete documentation to office staff
- Spend time managing displays at big box stores and taking leads
- Follow up on older leads within the company CRM
- Maintain positive business relationships to ensure future sales
- Report to the office and make outbound calls to set appointments
- Maintain CRM records, track leads, and report progress to management
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
- 1+ years of proven in-person sales experience
- In-depth knowledge of backup generator systems (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and closing skills
- Comfortable conducting in-home consultations and site assessments
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
- Proficient with CRM platforms, Apple/iOS products (iPhones & iPads), and sales proposal tools
- Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and pass a background check
- Represent top-tier solar, battery, and backup power solutions in a growing market
