Shift: 1st Shift | 8:00am - 4:00pm
Rate: $24 - $28/hour (Based on Experience)
Position Summary:
Are you good at putting things together, building things and fixing things? Do you enjoy working with your hands and power tools, would you like to use your skills to help people? Our Technicians are an integral part of our company, making up our installation team. From performing simple to moderate installations of residential mobility equipment, to troubleshooting and making repairs, this job gives you experience on a variety of unique equipment.
Our successful team prides itself in having good moral, has a history of providing excellent customer service with a friendly and engaging personality. They have a desire to work with their hands in the field, they enjoy interacting with customers and working with hand tools.
- Assist in layout, assembly and installation of stair lifts, vertical platform lifts, patient lifts, auto lifts, wheelchair ramps, grab bars and home safety accessories.
- Load and transport equipment and tools in company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
- Perform general warehouse work: receiving orders, stocking and loading products.
- Enter notes and photos into computer or mobile device.
- Train clients in the safe and proper use of installed equipment.
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Experience with hand and power tools, general construction, and ability to install equipment.
- Construction experience in a variety of trades or general construction skills.
- Mechanical skills and experience working on mechanical devices.
- Troubleshooting experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Customer‑focused service experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence, and technical drawings.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, extended workweek, including some overtime.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and proof of insurability.
- Prior experience with electrical or mechanical equipment.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
- Construction or mechanical experience.
- Basic construction skills and use of measurement devices.
- Understanding of general electronics and use of instruments such as a multimeter.
- Customer service or sales experience, especially with older adults.
- Comfortable with computers, internet and mobile applications.
While performing duties of the job, the individual is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Must often lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must work in all weather conditions; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
