Medical Receptionist

Overview

Saafe Behavioral Services is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Medical Receptionist. This role attends to patients by phone and in person. Empathy and efficiency are required to facilitate the smooth running of our mental healthcare environment and quality of patient care.

• Greet and check-in patients
• Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
• Maintain and manage patient records
• Insurance verification
• Collect co-pays and payments
• Move patients through appointments as scheduled
• Know and understand medical office procedures and policy
• Complete other clerical duties as assigned
• Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
• Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality

• High school diploma or GED
• One to three years work experience in the field
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
• Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
• Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
• Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred
