Maintenance Technician 3rd Shift at Country Pure Foods

Work schedule

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Responsibilities
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; examines the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts and lubricates and cleans parts as needed in accordance with food/beverage manufacturing quality system practices.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices and starts devices to test performance.
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills and shares expertise with others.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in the decision-making process.
  • Works with Maintenance Manager to prioritize and plan work activities and completes work in a timely manner.
  • Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
  • Works within approved budget and conserves organizational resources.
  • Follows policies and procedures and observes safety and security procedures.
  • Uses equipment and materials properly and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Maintains inventory records and performs cycle counts as necessary.
  • Mechanic should have their own basic tools (e.g., wrenches, sockets, pliers, nut drivers, screwdrivers, hammer).
Qualifications
  • Education/

    Experience:

    One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Basic computer and keyboarding skills; knowledge of inventory and maintenance related software; PLC experience a plus.
  • Physical Demands:
    Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, and talk/hear; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; vision requirements as listed.
