Position Summary: Plans, coordinates, and participates in electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs on movable bridges, including roadway and navigational lighting and fender systems.

• Coordinate and perform electrical maintenance and repairs on movable bridges and roadway lighting.
• Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical circuits, switches, relays, lighting, motors, generators, and related mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair bridge malfunctions.
• Work from heights using bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial lifts.
• Conduct routine bridge maintenance, including cleaning contacts, lamp replacements, and system organization.
• Maintain bridge electrical systems and perform routine maintenance on air conditioning units.
• Perform electrical testing such as amperage and Megger readings.
• Respond to emergency calls 24/7 and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain logs and reports of maintenance activities.
• Assist engineers during annual inspections of electrical and mechanical systems.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Ability to understand written and diagrammatic instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Electrician license.
• Experience with movable bridge electrical plans and schematics.
• Knowledge of structural maintenance and safety practices.
• Valid driver’s license with a good record.

• Available for emergency response at any time.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working in water and from boats.
• Use of PPE required.
