Merchandising Sales Associate

Overview

Merchandising Sales Associate at Tractor Supply Company is a Field Activity Support Team (FAST) Team Member role. You will travel to stores within an assigned district to own and execute “start to finish” variable tasks such as planograms, and provide support for tasks including merchandise and fixture assembly, and the maintenance of all signage. The FAST Team Member will interact with customers and Team Members while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience.

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts with the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Communicate proactively and regularly with the District FAST Supervisor on work completion, issues, and offer solutions to overcome.
• Complete planograms and resets accurately and in a timely manner.
• Maintain visual merchandise standards.
• Perform store-specific measurements.
• Complete store layout initiatives.
• Perform accurate cycle counts.
• Complete Tractor Way top cap process.
• Hang store signage.
• Assemble merchandise, fixtures and PDQs.
• Perform detailed recovery and review planogram integrity.

• Ensure the customer has a Legendary shopping experience that differentiates from the competition.
• Provide peak coverage as needed (e.g., Day After Thanksgiving).
• FAST Team Members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience:
  
  Prior retail and/or merchandising experience is required. Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
• Education:
  
  A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Regardless of education level, FAST Team Members must be able to read, write and count accurately.

• Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
• Must be self-directed and have the ability to complete assignments with little to no assistance.

• Working environment is generally inside with moderate noise.
• Shifts vary by store but are generally no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours.
• Travel between store locations in your personal vehicle is required; often with long durations.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers and adhere to Company safety training and guidelines.
• Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt); lighting and temperature are adequate.

• Ability to travel as required in support of district needs.
• Push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material handling equipment.
• Able to lift or reach merchandise overhead occasionally.
• Frequent standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, squatting, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
• Safely access all areas of the store and operate store equipment (computer, cash register, etc.).
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation and communicate with team members and customers.
• Ability to handle and be in contact with birds/poultry.
• Able to complete all required training and operate equipment required to run a store (e.g., dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer) (forklift and baler requirements not for under 18).
• Physical actions such as sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, reaching overhead, and lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
• This position is non-sedentary.
