Extrusion Technician (1st Shift 5:00 AM‑3:00 PM M‑TH) Responsibilities- Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
- Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and production orders to perform required tasks such as setting up, loading materials, operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cleaning, and completing preventive maintenance on assigned machines.
- Setting up and operating single or multiple production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
- Checking machine output and identifying any issues; adjusting machine settings to complete tasks accurately according to specifications.
- Boxing tubes, filling out tags, inspecting and gauging tubes; observing and assessing tubes, communicating and recommending changes and adjustments.
- Keeping updated records on all machine information and activity, defective units, and final output; communicating with team members and support staff across shifts to ensure continuous production of quality parts with minimal waste.
- High school diploma/GED with at least 6 months of machine operating experience (preferably in extrusion) in an industrial setting. Coursework should be supplemented with mechanical systems. Basic knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of the principles and methods involved in machining processes and applicable safety and OSHA requirements.
- Ability to attain forklift licensure.
- Ability to build positive team relationships and achieve outcome-oriented objectives; working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean Enterprise) with a holistic viewpoint.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, setting priorities and managing time effectively; ability to work independently, managing job orders and deadlines while maintaining awareness of other business dependencies.
