Senior Land Surveyor (Project Management)
GPI is seeking a Senior Land Surveyor in our Milford, DE office to work on projects in various locations throughout Delaware. GPI offers opportunities for advancement and is looking for a qualified candidate to build a Survey department for GPIs Delaware Design Operations. - Perform field data collection and office data processing, as well as the management of data
- Perform quality control and quality assurance
- Work with aerial, mobile, and static LiDAR datasets with cross‑training into other mapping disciplines
- Use of UAS Aerial Drones, Robotic Total Stations, Terrestrial LiDAR scanners, digital levels, photography, and other data collection tools and software
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, topographic maps, and real property descriptions
- Projects may include the use of hand tools, including a bush axe, machete, or sledgehammer
- Occasionally travel out of town for up to two weeks at a time
- Maintain supplies and equipment
- Project management and follow‑through of tasks scheduling and coordination across GPI departments
- Proposal preparation and proposal development
- Licensed Delaware Surveyor or ability to obtain a license within 9 months is preferable
- Associate's Degree or Bachelors Degree in a related field will be considered in lieu of experience
- Project management and scheduling experience
- Proposal preparation experience
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Micro Station
- Knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry
- Experience in field surveying practices and procedures
- Experience in drafting and reproduction methods
- Experience in land recording and conveyance procedures
- Background check and drug testing will be required for projects on Federal facilities
